Irrigation in Nebraska 1954-1989

This animation was created by Todd D. Noble during the Fall semester of 1989 using MacChoro with Map Animation. The individual frames of the animation were later converted to a QuickTime movie in the Spring of 1995 using Adobe Premiere. A brief "dissolve" transition effect was added between each frame with Adobe Premiere.

The shadings were assigned by county using an unclassed algorithm. The number of shadings, however, are limited to 16 shadings so the maps can be regarded as 16 class, equal-interval maps. Each data set is classified individually so that the shadings do not represent an absolute quantity but are relative the extreme (highest and lowest) values in each data set.
