Workshops offered by Professor Peterson

Example Animation

All of the animations are saved as ".avi" files and encoded with the Divx codec and will play with either Windows Media Player or the QuickTime program.  The Divx codec is a particular video compression format that is available from http://www.divx.com/divx/download/. The codec works with both Windows Media Player and the QuickTime player and needs to be installed after these programs are installed.

Step 1: Make sure you have either Windows Media Player or Quicktime installed on your computer. Use Media Player for Windows and Quicktime for Macintosh.

Step2: Download and install the free Divx codec from
http://www.divx.com/divx/download/

Step 3: Downloading the file will take several minutes even with a high-speed connection. Right-mouse click and Save Target as on the following link (control/click on Macintosh for pop-up menu):

Animation of Atlanta Airport traffic (13.2 MB)

Step 4: Double-click on the animation file to play.
