Baja Migmatite

This is a migmatitic gneiss from Baja California. Another migmatitic gneiss from this same outcrop was presented in earlier material, but there is more going on in this image. You should note and trace the following: 1) late phase granitic material that intruded late in the history and is relatively undeformed, 2) zones of local truncation of the gneissic layering where a ductile shear zones may exist, 3) some folds, and 4) older material that may be deformed xenoliths.
