Big Badlands Faults Interpretation

These are an array of normal faults, with the fault to the left being the main fault. Note the lack of fault zone development (mineralization and brecciation) and that is because these are soft-sediment faults that formed before the sediment lithified into sedimentary rock. The smaller faults may very well be linked to the main fault at depth. Overall the geometry suggests horizontal extension was occurring.
