Slim Buttes Faulting, NW South Dakota

This is a cliff side in Tertiary strata (the White River and overlying Arikaree Groups) in the Slim Buttes area of northwest South Dakota. Note the two people for scale. Obviously there is a major fault here, but there is also another major structual feature and some age relationships that can be worked out. There is not an interpreted version of this one so that you can practice.
