Notes: One can ask whether the sand dominated portions are regionally extensive sheets attached to a shoreline or whether they are detached bodies of more limited extent, as shown in these two different models. If we have regionally extensive sand bodies allowing simple correlation then the Innkjegla member must thin significantly to the north, and some syn-Carolinefjellet Formation tilting can be inferred. This in turn could be related to HALIP.However, another possibility is separate sand bodies and miscorrelation. Time doesn't permit an explanation of why, but we are leaning to the lower model, in which case present member stratigraphic may be problematic.
