Notes: This is a paleogeographic reconstruction compiled from literature sources, especially publications of Steel and others, Worsely, and Edwards, showing a regressive Helvetiafjellet shoreline position as the blue dashed line, the arrows indicating average paleocurrent directions. A good portion of the Helvetiafjellet was fluvial coastal plain with a deltaic margin and interdistributory bays. Lava flows are intercalated with Barremian strata on Kong Karls Land to the east.
