Notes: To better inform our interpretations we used a runs test as described by Swan and Sandilands to see if runs (consecutive increases or decreases) could be detected in our data. What would be significant stratigraphically are large negative Z statistic values (> -1.96), indicating long term runs or trends. We have beat this data to death using sliding averages, subsets, and medleys of differents components, looking for possible stratigraphic runs, trends or patterns inside the Carolinefjellet, but have found none that are statistically significant or convincing. At first a bit dismaying we believe this lack of any consistent runs or pattern to be one of our more significant finds. It simply reflects relative system continuity.
