Geog 1030- Introduction to Earth & Environmental Science
FALL, 2003---Discussion Syllabus

This syllabus may be subject to change over the course of the semester in terms of specific assignments. The discussion quiz dates will probably remain on the dates indicated. When there are changes I will make an announcement in class and change the syllabus on the web plus make a note in the "announcements" section on the 1030 home page. There will be 8 graded assignments due during those weeks identified with an asterisk(*). The assignments will be due at the beginning of your discussion section during that week. All assignments will involve your answering questions regarding reserve readings, sections of the text, reading material on the web, or viewing of videotapes. Assignments will be available on the web only.

While we do have specfic assignments for discussion you should also make use of the
time to ask questions about topics from lecture you might be uncertain about.

Quizzes will be in short essay format and will count 45 pts each. Each assignment will
count 10 points and 30 points will be allocated by your discussion leaders for class
participation. If you should miss a quiz date try and make it up in another class
or contact the assistant or me as soon as possible to make arrangments for a makeup
