GIS datasets can be found from many online sources that are hosted by federal, state, and local government agencies.
Many times you will be able to gather multiple datasets from 1 website but for the purposes of this lab you will want to explore multiple
data sources and their individual extraction methods for downloadable data as well as how (file format and delivery method) the data is acquired.
To gather GIS data, many times you can Google the area of interest with “GIS data” in the search.
This is a good place to start. Below is a list of websites that we will cover in class and that might be of use for you.
