Grading of Sidebar Assignment


Two grades will be given for the sidebar assignment - one for the initial version on paper and one for the final version on computer.

The grading of both versions is based on three major criteria: formatting of the document (15%), background research and references (35%), and the quality and organization of the writing (50%). The sidebar must be between 1000-1500 words so a longer document does not translate to a better grade.


 100  A+  Excellent in all three categories
 95  A  Minor problems in formatting or content.
 85  B  A few formatting or content problems.
 75  C  Formatting, content or writing problems.
 65  D  Significant problems in formatting, content, or writing.
 55  F  Content incomplete, writing inadequate.
 0  F  Assignment not turned in.

NOTE: A grade of 0 will be given if substantial portions of the sidebar have been copied from another source, such as an article or an encyclopedia. This is considered plagarism and can lead to more serious consequences such as explusion from this class or the University.
