The Kyoto Bay is off the coast of Japan . It represents the bays connection with the Pacific Ocean. Japan 's physical and Natural environment is an island, which means bays surround them and oceans surround the bays. The ocean is where Japan gets a lot of its food and resources.

Mt. Fuji is a symbol of Japan . Mt.Fuji is 12,388 feet high and an active stratovocano. Mt.Fuji is the highest mountain in Japan . It surrounded by five lakes, which are Lakes Kawaguchi, Lake Yamamaka, Lake Sai, Lake Motosu and Lake Shoji. It is located off of the Pacific coast in Shizuoka.

Niigata means "New Lagoon" and its landscape was created by erosion. Niigata is located on Honsh`u island and it stretches southwest to northeast along the Sea of Japan. The Shinano River flows from the Nagano to Niigata. At 367 KM, Shinano River is the longest river in Japan and is called Chikuma River (Chikumagawa) by the locals.

In 1397, Kinkaku-ji Temple (Rokuon-ji) was built to serve as a retirement villa for Shogun Ashikaga Yoshimitsu. In 1408, Kinkaku-ji was converted into a Zen temple after Yoshimitsu's death. About 92% of people in Japan are Buddhist. Many of these people go to temples on New Year's day to wish themselves good health and a successful life.

Susukino is well known as Japan 's largest entertainment district. It has over four hundred businesses and the best nightlife district. The area is packed with stores, bars, restaurants, karaoke shop, and pachinko parlors and red light establishments. The picture shows how Japan is over-populated and how Japan is a small space as the cars take up a large part of the street.

Osaka, Japan , has a population of 388,372. The city was founded on October 15, 1936. The image shows that Osaka has to accommodate for it large population because the streets are multi-level and the buildings are so close together.

The airport is located in Akita, Japan . On August 1951, the government of Japan recognized the need for a reliable air transportation system. That is what had helped grow Japan after WWII. Today, the airport offers numerous flights to and from Akita.

Hakozaki is an Old Town, which now functions as a terminal to the international airport. It is located between the Metropolitan Express or also called the Fukagawa Line and the Mukolima Line. The Hakozaki is called the "gate to abroad" because it is a key transportation point. A key transportation point is what affects their society today.

Tsukuda is the Northern tip of the island and has been redeveloped in the 1990's in what is now one of the most prestigious residential area of Japan . One building has 52 floors and is the highest residential tower in Japan . The town was originally built as a water front development plan of Tokyo which was initially the site of Ishikawajima shipyard.
