Hi!! My name is Chris Comte, and welcome to my BIO/RESUME page!! Read (and look) on to find out everything there is to know about me!!!!!!!

Where to start ....... let's see ...... I have been married for 7 years to a wonderful gal and a heck of a mom to our two boys (pictured below). Her name is Y, and the boy's names are D Jay (now 4 years old) and E Lai (now 14 months). Y is a homemaker who enjoys cooking and crafts. D Jay started school last year (we home school him) and is doing very well. He also likes to play with his friends at the park. E Lai enjoys eating and climbing.

I have been in the United States Air Force for 12 years now (has it really been that long?) I am a weather forecaster and am currently stationed at Offutt Air Force Base near Omaha Nebraska. I work in the Special Projects Branch of Air Force Global Weather Center (AFGWC) providing support to the National Reconassaince Office (NRO). I have had many interesting assignments since joining the Air Force, all of them both interesting and challenging. I am a decorated veteran of the Persian Gulf War, having spent 4 months at Thumrait Air Base in Oman and 3 months at Al Kharj Air Base in Saudi Arabia. I hope to be moving in the spring of 1998 with the Air Force Combat Climotological Center (AFCCC) as they move their operations to Asheville, North Carolina Although weather is not a true hobby of mine, I like taking photographs of severe weather phenomena. Below is a photo of a severe thunderstorm I took while stationed at Altus Air Force Base, Oklahoma (the front door of tornado alley!!!) way back in 1986.

I guess I am what everyone calls a non-traditional student. After high school I had no motivation to go to college, so I joined the Air Force. After a few years I felt like I was ready to start, but was never stationed at an Air Force base where I could take advantage of school. I was assigned to Offutt Air Force Base in late 1993, and, after looking into the educational opportunities in the local area, I finally decided to go to the University of Nebraska at Omaha (UNO) and pursue a degree in geography (my favorite subject!!) I finished an associates degree in meteorology in 1995 and am now a senior at UNO finishing up a bachelors degree in geography (I will graduate in the fall of 1997). I have been lucky enough to maintain a 4.0 GPA up to this point with 5 classes left. Keep your fingers crossed!! I was selected as the 1996 undergraduate geography student of the year along with my friend Scott O'Grady. Congrats to both of us!! I am also a member of the Gamma Theta Upsilon (GTU) Honor Society.

The Geography Department at UNO is great!! My main interest lies in regional geography, in particularly European and Russian geography. Click here to find out who my favorite professor is! This semester (spring 1997) I am taking GIS with Dr. Peterson. It's a lot of fun and I am learning a lot!! He works us hard but it's worth it!! Geography is fun!

The coolest thing I have ever done ....... (the aircraft is an F-15E out of Seymour Johnson Air Force Base in North Carolina) ............

What a ride!!!!

If you have any comments or just want to write to me .............
