Getting an account through PODSERVER.INFO

This is the sign-up page for podserver.info. You’ll need to enter your own account name (cartgis is taken), password, and email address. The security code should be easy enough to figure out.

After you click on “Create Account”, you’ll need to wait for the confirmation email.  This will take a few minutes and the email might end up in your spam if you are using a non-university email account.

The email will ask you to click on a link.  This will present the following page:

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

No extra script needs to be installed so just select Continue.  This will present a countdown to indicate that your account will be active in one minute. An order summary will come up indicating that you owe no money for the account, and the account details:

This is your account and you will need this each time, along with your password, to sign-on.  The address to view web pages from this directory is:

Clicking on Control Panel or Control Panel Login will allow you to sign-in:

 

 

 

 

This will lead you to another login screen where you will need to re-enter the information.

 

This will lead you to the “vistapanel,” a Control Panel with a set of tools.  The tool that we will be using the most is the:

After clicking on the htdocs folder, delete the index2.html file by selecting and clicking on the Delete button. Click on the green check symbols and the blue arrow to return to the file listing.

Select New file and enter the following code.  Make sure to name the file index.html:

Upload a picture of yourself with the file name “mypict.jpg”.  It shouldn’t be much bigger than 125 pixels high.  If it is a large file, use a utility to reduce the number of pixels in the picture.

Go to your website and see if your new index file is visible.
